Become a Patron: Once a Patron, you will gain access to our booking page, and can schedule working hours for $10 per hour.

Open Studio hours are variable depending on classes and bookings, check the schedule at Neighborhood Print Studio page. There will always be a studio assistant during open hours.

Open Studio for Non Patrons is rare and accepted case-by-case by the Director at lara@mkad.art.

The Open Studio fee for Non-patrons is $30 for per hour.

No, but we hold ongoing Introduction workshops in screen printing and intaglio designed for people who interested in the printmaking process and joining our print community. After completing this class, you can apply to become a patron.

The $120 registration Fee is required. The registration fee can be divided into 12 monthly payments.

Work-trade is available for the hourly rental rate upon approval. One hour of work gives you two hours of studio time.

• Silkscreen:

Screens: 20” x 24” screens (156 white and 230 yellow mesh count), and 23” × 31” (230 yellow mesh count) screens.

Tools & equipment: Scoop coaters, silkscreen hinge clamps boards, washout booth, and a 20” x 24” UV exposure unit.

Materials: photo emulsion, emulsion remover, degreaser, screen tape, acetate for registration, and magic markers.

The artist supplies ink, Glycerin, Screen filler, paper, and transparencies. The studio has a printer for transparency film and an iMac with Adobe suite. Printers can supply their transparencies or have them printed at the studio for $5.

• Intaglio / Relief / Monotype:

Tools: etching tools, carving & trimming tools, sharpening stones, brayers, ink palettes, rulers, cutting tools, tear bars, cutting mats, and brushes.

Materials: black ink, tack reducer, extender, adhesives, and tape.

The artist supplies paper, color ink, tarlatan for color ink, matrix, and specialty adhesives. Most products can be purchased at the studio at a discounted price for Patrons.

• Bookmaking: Bone folders, triangles, glue brushes, needles, piercing cradles, rulers, knives, PVA glue

For $25 an hour, a trained studio assistant can assist you with your project.

We also take on small print jobs such as limited edition silkscreen posters and T-shirt printing and small digital print jobs for organizations such as flyers, reports, pamphlets, and buttons. Please contact at nps@mkad.art.

Yes, we are always looking for instructors for a wide variety of classes and workshops in our print studio and our regular classroom. One-day workshops, intensives, and sequential classes are all valued. If you want to teach with us, send inquiries to lara@mkad.art

Our business incubator program is currently host to Cosmic Doghouse Press, a locally run risograph press. Although we share a space, Cosmic Doghouse is a separate entity from the Neighborhood Print Studio.
